It's possible to keep veneers in good condition for many years with a little planning. Veneers made out of porcelain are more likely to get stained by drinking dark liquids. This is because porcelain veneers are more porous than natural teeth. One way to enjoy drinks like coffee and tea with less risk of staining is to enjoy them using a straw. If you want to enjoy your morning cup of Joe, don't fret! You can use a straw. When you use a straw, the liquid that you're drinking comes in less contact with your teeth. Veneers can handle other foods, but hard foods carry the risk of breaking or chipping your veneers. It's also important to note that if you grind your teeth, your veneers are at risk for damage. Constant teeth grinding puts a lot of force on your teeth and doing so may cause your veneers to crack. Luckily, we can provide you with a mouth guard to protect your teeth from damage if you grind your teeth at night.
